Live-In Care
Your Home. Your Life. Round-the-Clock Support.
A dedicated, fully trained carer living with you in your own home — so you never face the day alone. Genuine 24/7 support in familiar surroundings, without the upheaval of moving into residential care.
What We Offer
What Is Live-In Care?
Live-in care means a qualified, carefully matched carer comes to live in your home and provides continuous, 24-hour support tailored entirely to you. Unlike care homes — where you move into someone else's environment, share spaces with strangers, and fit around an institutional schedule — live-in care allows you to remain in your own home, surrounded by your belongings, your routines, your neighbours, and in many cases your beloved pets.
It's a common misconception that live-in care is only for people approaching end of life. In reality, it supports a wide spectrum of needs — from individuals with complex physical or neurological conditions who require skilled daily assistance, to those who simply need companionship, reassurance, and a watchful presence. Our nurse-led model means every live-in package is clinically governed, regularly reviewed, and adapted as your needs change over time. We match you with a carer based on personality, skills, and experience — not just availability.

Full personal care throughout the day — bathing, dressing, grooming, continence care, and mobility assistance — delivered with discretion, dignity, and genuine warmth whenever it's needed.
Overnight Support
Whether you need a waking night carer who is alert throughout the night, or a sleeper who is on hand if needed, we tailor the overnight arrangement to your specific situation and level of need.

Familiar surroundings are vital for people living with dementia. A consistent live-in carer provides stability, safety, and meaningful engagement in the home they know.

Couples Needing Support
When both partners have care needs, or one supports the other, a live-in carer can support both individuals while allowing the couple to stay together at home.

Why Choose Us
Why Choose S&N Flexi Agency for Live-In Care?
Live-in care is an intensely personal arrangement. Here's why families across Bolton and Cumbria trust us with it.
Careful Carer Matching
We don't just send whoever is available. We invest time in matching carers based on personality, skills, shared interests, and specific clinical requirements — because the right connection makes all the difference.
Nurse-Led Oversight & Reviews
Every live-in package is overseen by Susan Olueh, our Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse. Regular clinical reviews ensure the care plan evolves with your needs — and that any concerns are caught and acted on quickly.
Transparent Value vs. Care Home
Live-in care is often comparable in cost to a residential care home — but provides exclusive 1-to-1 attention, full continuity of environment, and the profound benefit of remaining at home. We provide transparent, all-inclusive pricing.
Flexible — Scales With You
Care needs change. We can scale support up or down, switch from live-in to visiting care, or adjust the package at any point — without bureaucracy or long notice periods. Your peace of mind comes first.
Common Questions
Live-In Care — FAQ
Still have questions? Call us on 01204 952 009 — we're happy to talk everything through at no obligation.
How is live-in care different from a care home?
In a care home, you move into a shared facility, live on a set schedule, and receive care from rotating staff who support many residents at once. With live-in care, you stay in your own home with a dedicated carer whose sole focus is you. You keep your routines, your surroundings, your pets, and your connections to your local community. Research consistently shows that familiar environments — especially for people with dementia — improve outcomes and quality of life.
What does a live-in carer do in their time off?
Live-in carers are entitled to a minimum of two hours of uninterrupted break time per day, as required by working time guidelines. During this period, a family member or a second carer from our team provides cover. We plan this carefully so there is no gap in your care. Overnight, the arrangement depends on the level of night-time need — some clients require a waking night carer, others a sleeping night arrangement where the carer is on-hand if needed.
Is live-in care available for couples?
Yes. Many couples find that one partner's care needs increase while the other acts as an informal carer, which can be exhausting and unsustainable. A live-in carer can support both partners, tailoring their approach to each person's individual needs and allowing the couple to remain together at home with appropriate professional support around them. The cost difference compared to two separate care home placements is significant.
How are carers selected and matched?
All our carers undergo thorough recruitment — enhanced DBS checks, reference verification, skills assessment, and an in-depth interview. Once we have completed your home assessment and understand your needs, personality, and preferences, we select a carer whose experience, temperament, and background are the best possible match. We always arrange an introductory meeting before care begins, and if the match isn't right, we will find someone better suited. Your comfort comes first.
How quickly can live-in care be arranged?
For planned arrangements, we typically have a carer in place within a few days of completing the home assessment. For urgent situations — such as a sudden hospital discharge or a rapid deterioration in health — please call us immediately on 01204 952 009 and we will prioritise getting support in place as quickly as possible. Our on-call team is available 24/7.
